Located in the heart of Tulum Centro, specifically at Satélite Sur 12, Col Huracanes, these food trucks bring a unique, local twist to the traditional street food scene. The laid-back vibe of Tulum is perfectly complemented by the vibrant offerings of these mobile kitchens, and it’s easy to see why they’re becoming increasingly popular among locals and visitors alike.

Driving through the streets of Tulum, you’ll quickly notice the lively food truck scene popping up at various points in town. But if you're craving something truly authentic and full of flavor, these trucks are where you’ll want to stop. From savory tacos to mouthwatering tamales, these food trucks serve up some of the best eats around. And the best part? The atmosphere is relaxed, casual, and welcoming-a true reflection of Tulum’s beach town charm.

One of the best things about the food trucks around Tulum Centro is the variety. Whether you’re in the mood for grilled meats, fish, or vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone. The tacos are particularly popular, with vendors offering everything from grilled shrimp to carne asada, each taco bursting with fresh, bold flavors. For a truly authentic experience, many locals recommend trying the al pastor tacos-succulent pork topped with pineapple and perfectly seasoned, a real taste of Mexico.

Another dish that’s hard to miss is the tamales. These soft, cornmeal parcels wrapped in banana leaves are a traditional Mexican favorite. At the food trucks in Tulum, you can find a variety of fillings, from savory pork to spicy chicken. If you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, some trucks even serve tamales filled with rich chocolate or fruit, offering the perfect balance to a savory meal.

While the food is the star, the atmosphere adds an extra layer of charm to the experience. Tulum’s food trucks are often located in open-air areas with seating nearby, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal while soaking in the tropical vibe. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the whole experience. These trucks offer a perfect mix of authentic cuisine and the laid-back Tulum lifestyle.

What’s even better is that Tulum food trucks are an affordable option, making them perfect for travelers on any budget. Many of the trucks are locally owned, offering a direct connection to Tulum’s community and culture. And while there’s always a bit of a wait for your food, the casual nature of the food trucks makes it feel like part of the fun. Chat with the locals, try something new, and take in the sights and sounds of Tulum Centro while you wait for your order.

The location itself is another key factor in why these food trucks are so popular. Situated in Tulum Centro at Satélite Sur 12, Col Huracanes, the trucks are easy to find and convenient to visit. Whether you’re staying nearby or just passing through, it’s a perfect stop for a quick bite. Some trucks even offer delivery options, so you can enjoy your favorite Tulum street food from the comfort of your hotel or Airbnb.

One thing to keep in mind is that the food trucks in Tulum can get busy, especially during peak hours. It’s a great idea to come early or be prepared for a short wait. But once you get your hands on a fresh taco or tamale, it’s clear that the wait was worth it. The quality and authenticity of the food make every minute of anticipation worth it.

If you’re not sure where to start, many food trucks have their regulars who can guide you toward the best menu items. Tulum’s food truck scene is all about recommendations, so don’t hesitate to ask the locals for their top picks. It’s not uncommon to hear glowing reviews of the tacos de pescado (fish tacos) or the fresh ceviche that many of the trucks serve. It’s a good idea to try a few different things to get the full Tulum street food experience.

Tulum’s food trucks also reflect the growing trend of sustainable and organic food options. Many of these trucks pride themselves on using locally-sourced, fresh ingredients, ensuring that each meal is not only delicious but also environmentally conscious. If you’re someone who enjoys supporting sustainable food practices, you’ll feel good knowing that the food you’re enjoying is produced with care for both the environment and the local community.

In addition to great food, Tulum food trucks offer a sense of connection to the community. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, these food trucks provide a warm and inviting space where everyone can come together over a shared love of food. The vendors are friendly, the flavors are bold, and the experience is unmatched.

  • Hands down the best tacos I have ever eaten at at just 17 pesos each they are an absolute bargain. The tacos are so simple and well seasoned, the meat does the talking. Drinks from the bar are well made and well priced. They have a good hookah too.

  • Hands down the best, chill place we have been to while visiting Tulum. The staff is incredible and goes out of your way to make you feel at home. The food is great! We found this hidden gem by accident, on day 1 of us arriving in town, and have eaten here every day since. We have had steak tacos, chicken fajita tacos, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, steak tacos, pastor tacos, and chicken wings! You can not go wrong with anything on their menu. My husband loves the Tulum Lager, and they have been making me a coffee drink (not sure of the name), but it is soooo good! They have such a cool, laid-back atmosphere with music, and they even have large Jenga games set up on some of the tables. If you are in the area, you must stop here. You will not be disappointed!

  • Great atmosphere, especially at night. They've created a cozy and welcoming outdoor environment. Good food options including tacos and some killer pizza, and a great bar with fun staff. There was a local band with an amazing, energetic vocalist the night I was here, followed by karaoke! Overall a really good experience and a great place to hang out with a few drinks in some tasty snacks.

  • Was a great find! Teena and I hung out, played board games and jenga while enjoying our dinner. They made great mocktails and were super friendly. Our server spoke English which was great as we know beginner Spanish only. Had 2 cervezas, mocktail, a bottle water plate of tacos, burger / fries, and cerviche for about $55 CAD. Prices don’t include tip (some places add it on) so be sure to leave for tip.

  • Such a cozy, beautiful spot with the warmest, most welcoming vibe. I’m so glad I found it on my last night - it was exactly the experience I was hoping for. Authentic local energy, insanely good, drool-worthy food, great cerveza, and a karaoke night that made the evening even more special. The people truly won me over - amazing service, fantastic cocktails, and an unbeatable atmosphere. Highly recommend. If you’re visiting, skip the polished hotel zone and experience the real Tulum in Centro. That’s where the soul is, and the Tumlum food trucks completely stole my heart.

  • The main reason I came here was because I could find options for chicken - although limited. (The adjacent taqueria did not serve any.) Look, the place has a nice chill vibe to it but it's more of a place to enjoy with your friends rather than a "must visit eatery". Food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Although when good food is stupidly expensive in Tulum, 17 pesos for one taco seemed like a good bargain. On some nights, they have a live DJ, on some nights you have karaoke. As of now, there is a taco stand, a sausage stand, and a bar with burgers. I was hoping for more food trucks though. There used to be a pizza one but that guy has closed shop. Tables are well laid out, service was friendly and hookah is available. They are open until late (1 am) and closed on Tuesday's. Bring cash.

  • A great chill spot! The drinks were spectacular and the tuneada (tuna salad) was delicious and refreshing, especially with the heat. So good we came back to have it again!
